Rotary Club of Woonsocket announces their 2016 line-up of events for "Rotary Days"
 
The Rotary Club of Woonsocket is pleased to announce that “Woonsocket Rotary Days” 2016 will feature five events
 
“A Day in the Garden” will be held on Saturday May 21st from 10:00am-noon at the community garden located on Clinton Street in Woonsocket. Come help us while we plant vegetable beds and feels good about planting crops that will be donated to local food pantries.
 
“Community Wide Clean Up”- Coordinated by Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Boy Scout Troop 2. It will be held on May 21st and further details will be available soon. In 2015, we collected over 4,000lbs of roadside trash in the city of Woonsocket. We hope to double our efforts this year.
 
“Touch-A-Truck”- Chairman Kevin Greenough and his committee are pleased to return this wonderful event to Homestead Garden in No. Smithfield on May 14&15 from 10:00am- 4:00pm. This years event will feature interactive educational displays plus some feature vehicles for 2016. Come see “Mutt Cutts” from the movie “Dumb and Dumber”, along with the Planters Peanuts “Nut Mobile” & Mr. Peanut. We are also excited to offer a rare appearance by one of only three Delorean’s (time machines) from a popular 80’s movie.
We will also feature an outdoor movie on a giant 27’ screen on May 14th at 8:00pm. Come see as the Delorean is parked near the stage as we show the movie that made this car so iconic.
 
“Blackstone Valley Music and Arts Festival”- The event will be held on June 3-5th at Homestead Gardens in No. Smithfield. We will feature midway rides by Fiesta Shows (starting Thursday June 2-5th), a Bar-B-Q Competition, Artist Village, “Buy Local” vendors and non stop entertainment in the “Field of Music”.

Tickets are required for admission to the “Field of Music” for Friday and Saturday only and can be purchased at www.wrd.ticketleap.com/bvma . Tickets for these events are $20.00 per night or a two day pass for $30.00. Come early with lawn chairs or blanket to stake your claim in the “Field of Music” and enjoy the beautiful grounds of Homestead Gardens. Enjoy great music, food, beer and wine under the sun and stars in rural No. Smithfield, RI.
Sunday’s entertainment will feature the best local bands in northern Rhode Island and will be have no admission fee.
There is no admission fee at any time for the carnival, Bar-B-Q Competition, Artist Village and “Buy Local” vendors.
 
“Books are Wings” Book Party- Our club is partnering with “Books are Wings” for a fun day at the Harris Public Library in Woonsocket on June 11th from 1:00pm-3:00pm. Come join us as we will have face painters, beverages, light snack and a free children’s book to all the kids.
