Woonsocket Rotary Foundation

The Woonsocket Rotary Charities Foundation is a charitable foundation separately managed by an appointed board of Rotary Trustees.  Incorporated January 31, 1991, as a Tax Exempt 501 (c)(3) entity, the Woonsocket Rotary Foundation's primary goal is to provide support for the betterment of the Greater Woonsocket community. Considerations of its charge include fostering community wide initiatives benefiting the health and general welfare of the community with an emphasis on education, youth development and programs consistent with the general principles of Rotary International.

The Woonsocket Rotary Charities Foundation annually expends 5% of it's net asset value within the area of Greater Woonsocket. Each year, the foundation funds $10,000 in Scholarships for graduates from local schools including Woonsocket High School, North Smithfield High School, Mount St. Charles, Woonsocket Career & Technical Center and Burrillville High School.

Since it was established, The Woonsocket Rotary Foundation has donated over $67,000 to local charities such as Stadium Theater Foundation, the MS Society, Because "He" Lives Ministry, Thundermist Health, Institute for Poverty, Family Resources Shelter and the Rotary International Foundation's Polio Plus.
