The Rotary Donation Request Grant award will be utilized in assisting the Woonsocket Historical Society to re-establish community outreach through activities to allow the public to have access to resources initiated by the Woonsocket Historical Society. Support through the Rotary Club of Woonsocket will allow the Woonsocket Historical Society during these uncertain times to renew their community outreach and commitment to not only preserving Woonsocket’s history but continuing in maintaining the tapestry of Woonsocket for future generations.
By reinvesting and cultivating a greater interest in our historic and cultural resources, the Woonsocket Historical Society was able to secure this grant award, through the support of Woonsocket Rotary and will continue to contribute to the educational, cultural and artistic fabric that anchors Woonsocket as a contributor to the legacy of the Blackstone River Valley. The Woonsocket Historical Society’s long-range goal is for the spotlight to be shown the historical and cultural assets throughout Woonsocket and the Blackstone River Valley while inviting residents throughout the surrounding area and from around the state to explore Woonsocket’s treasures. As a community anchor, the WHS is sending out an invitation to all of our neighbors to stop by and rediscover Woonsocket’s “Historical Gems.”
The Woonsocket Historical Society is located at the back of the Museum of Work & Culture at 42 South Main St., parking is located on Island Place. We hope to see you soon.
