2013 Vocational Service Award
On May 9, 2013, the Woonsocket Rotary honored Cathy Levesque, Executive Director of the Stadium Theatre Foundation, as the 2013 recipient of the Vocational Service Award. The coveted award represents one of the four cornerstones of the Rotary Club. Rotarians are charged to uphold high ethical standards in all their vocational and professional practices, to recognize the worthiness of all use occupations and to consider their own occupation as an opportunity to service society. The Rotary Club of Woonsocket advances this idea through its Vocational Service Award, created to recognize and honor Rotarian or community members or business, which has through their work practiced in keeping the highest ethical standards and strived to help others.
Cathy has been involved in the Stadium Theatre Foundation since 2005, first as a marketing director and presently as executive director. Under her leadership, the theater has become a model for community involvement with its hundreds of volunteers, and a leader in the Blackstone Valley and beyond in bringing top-shelf entertainment that covers the whole spectrum of the arts, whether it is broadways, theatre, local and regional repertory and children’s education. Her energy and love for the Stadium and it’s future and the future of the Woonsocket Community is evident 24 hours a day as she is tireless in her efforts to constantly “raise the bar”. Something that has resulted in a major success story in Woonsocket from it’s economic development and support of local and regional business. |
